Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak
 
 
Michael Milston joined the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak (NSW) as a charter member in March 1995. He held a number of board roles and was elected President in 2003-4. Michael has served on the D9700 Peace Committee, as an Assistant Governor (Group 2 2004-7), District Learning and Development Coordinator (2008-11), District Learning and Development team member (2011-14), and District Secretary (2013-14). Michael was selected as Governor for 2016-7, as such he will be Governor-elect from July 2015.
 
Michael has over 40 years experience in the not-for-profit sector serving for 30 years as a senior manager/director in local government; he was on the board of his state-wide professional association for over 10 years, serving a term as vice-president.
 
Michael currently operates a consultancy business supporting not-for-profit organisations with strategic planning, management, communication, facilitation, mentoring and community engagement. He is also chair of the Western Research Institute, a not-for-profit research organisation, that specialises in economic impact and social research.
 
With his partner Ann Dib, he has three adult children and, to date three grandsons. Ann has had a distinguished career as a teacher with the NSW Public High Schools and with TAFE NSW for over 40 years.  Ann has worked for the NSW Health system as a play leader / play therapist in a major Sydney hospital, community worker with isolated children and families in northern NSW.  Ann is currently a volunteer providing crisis support via telephone, mentors adults from Non English speaking backgrounds to improve their English, as well as tutoring/mentoring high school students with their study skills and areas of need.  Ann has supported Michael in his Rotary work and has been personally involved with his club since it was chartered. She is currently exploring the concept / membership of an e-Rotary club.
