Based on feedback from a few Rotarians, the following is for clarification regarding the 'All Clubs Briefing' on the Rotary Aussie Peace Walk.

The Aussie Peace Walk organisers realise that Clubs outside of Canberra may not be able to attend this briefing.  However, as some Clubs outside of Canberra have expressed an interest in the event the invitation went to all D9705 Clubs as this is a premier Rotary100 event for next year.  The involvement and assistance of Canberra region Clubs will be important on the weekend of the event and it also gives the District a grand opportunity to showcase Rotary's service to community across the District and beyond.

The question has been asked as to why we suggest sending 4-6 representatives from your club. Why not just send one person?

We intend to do some brainstorming, so we want clubs to send a brains-trust that is representative of the club. Unfortunately, we are limited in numbers so we needed to put a limit on numbers. If you trust one member to be your club brains-trust, then just send your key opinion leader!

The other question that has come up is ‘If we are trying to keep Rotary costs down, why do we have to pay $25 for a meal?’

The short answer is; you don’t. The email says eating is optional, but we do need to know who is coming for the COVID record.

Reminder of details:

Date:  Thursday 19 November

Time:  6:30pm for 7pm start

Location:  Gold Creek Station, Victoria St, Hall ACT.

Cost: $25pp for meal (Drinks extra) Indicate any special meal requirements or indicate if NOT eating.

RSVP:  Please RSVP by midnight Monday 16 November by sending one email per club to Organiser@AussiePeaceWalk.com.au listing the names of your club members that will be attending. (Names required for COVID tracing)

Entertainment and fund-raising activities will be discussed and we value your club’s input.

We hope you can join us for this important briefing session and we suggest club members familiarise themselves with the event website prior to attendance  https://aussiepeacewalk.com.au
