Service Objective
The primary focus of RAM has been the distribution of insecticide-treated nets to vulnerable populations in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and more recently, Timor Leste. RAM has raised more than $1.6 million to eliminate malaria since 2003. RAM works in conjunction with the Ministry of Health authorities in each country and complements the work of other malaria organisations, most notably the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

RAM Projects and support
Rotarians Against Malaria is a volunteer-run organisation working to eliminate malaria.
Fifteen years ago, malaria killed a child every 30 seconds. Under the Millennium Development Goals, however, considerable progress has been made in preventing, diagnosing and treating malaria. As a result, deaths have fallen by 60 percent. Now, under the ambitious Sustainable Development Goals, we are aiming to reduce malaria cases and deaths by a further 90 percent by 2030.

Rotarians Against Malaria is an activity of Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) and covers the following countries:
  • Australia
  • Papua New Guinea – RAM PNG is a partner of RAM in Australia
  • Solomon Islands
  • Timor Leste
